badbluesplayer
I tweaked the trussrod on my ES-339 the other day and I noticed that the trussrod nut seems to have a blob of some kind of filler or epoxy between it and the wood. The trussrod nut isn't completely engaging the rod. The trussrod works fine. I was getting ready to "fix" the problem by removing the nut and removing the blob, but then my better instincts told me not to mess with it. Has anybody ever seen this. Is it done on purpose? Any ideas?
Jeff-7
Are you the only owner of this 339 or was it bought second hand?
Kimbabig
could it be the spray of nitro that couldn't be buffed?
TommyK
I think I'd as Customer Service to explain themselves. The machine shed mechanic in me says that any goo betwixed a nut and washer and whatever it's washed against ain't good.

badbluesplayer
@ jeff - I'm the only owner. @kimbabig - It looks like nitro - who knows? It's really hard, like epoxy. It looks like it was filled on purpose.
