L5Larry
Kent Armstrong pickups are thought of to be very high quality throughout the industry. Many custom guitar makers use his pickups. As a side note, he is also the son of the late Dan Armstrong, a musical instrument and products wizard in his own day.
Bender 4 Life
On the advice of my (now ex, out of business) local guitar tech I put a K/A hot twinblade (noiseless) in the bridge of my MexiTele...the P'up was $70 shpng incl. It's so much better than the stocker that i've got to swap out the neck p'up too sometime....almost twice the volume output and zero noise. K/As are quite good, and very affordable, although the bulk of them are now Asian made but USA "designed".

Kimbabig
I know Bill Lawrence used to work for him and I've got about two guitars with his pickups in them, BG are still my favorite though.
