rossnuk
Hi - I am thinking of putting 13s on my Gibson j200 as I also have a Martin D28 which I have 13s on set at D tuning. I am playing more and more in D tuning (1 step down - every string tuned 1 step down) I am wondering - the neck should be under less strain and I wonder if I would be right in saying that the tension will be around the same having 11s on it in standard tuning. I have had 11s, and 12s on my j200 and the action has always been fine with no adjustment needed on the neck or nut and saddle. Would be good hear your opinions on the tension. CAMELEYE
A J200's built to take the tension of 13s, no problem. On top of which you're tuning down. Give 'em a try.
