Are 2010 Epi Elitists PLEK'D?

Sorry if this is yet another thread on the topic, but I did do a search, and the results that I got were from 2009. Depending on where I've looked on the net, I've read that Epiphone Elitists are PLEK'd and that they are not PLEK'd. I have a strong suspicion that they are not PLEK'd, but can someone settle this? I'm particularly interested in the Elitist Casinos.

Since Gibson just implemented the plek system on all standard production guitars last year, I doubt that Epiphone has yet to implement this service ;) Besides, if they were plek'in, I think they would really advertise this in the specs and features, or AT LEAST with a sticker on the guitar ! :) Don't put too much faith in the 'ol plek-er.....A well made guitar is still going to be a good one, the plek is used so a company can be lazy and have a robot do a skilled craftman's work!

Thanks for the insight. Appreciate it.

I can't speak about ALL Epi's, Elitist or otherwise, but the ones I've purchased,

recently, and in the past, have ALL had better fret work, stock, than most of my

Gibson's ever did. My last 2 Gibson's('50's and '60's Tribute Gold Top Studios)

are plek'd, as is standard proceedure, now, with Gibson. My particular Epiphone's

had "rounder topped" frets, so they didn't suffer the "speed bump/railroad tie"

feeling, that could literally stop a note slide, prematurely. Can't and won't, speak

for other's here, but I've never had that experience, with any of my Epi's. But,

with pre-plek'd Gibson's, and even Fender's, it was all too common. Sure glad,

they started using that plek system. It's made a wonderful difference...IMHO.

I bought my first Epiphone Les Paul Standard in 2000. I played dozens of Gibsons and Epi's. All the Epi's were consistent and good. Gibson was all over the place. I was told at the time that Epiphone (Korea) was building everything using computer controlled machinery. That included the fretting and nut cutting. I could afford the Gibson but couldn't afford the time to complete the quest for the Holy Grail to find it. Also bought an Epi Dot whose neck and fretwork were sensibly perfect.

I now own 2 Gibsons. Mostly because they have caught up to modern quality control and use of tech like PLEK in building their guitars. Add to that hand nitro finish, better pups and made in U.S.A. I feel they are worth the difference in price. Just my observation YMMV.
