Ok, its Madonna... I went to her concert in Valencia this past Thursday night. I gotta say it was impressive. She may be the Anti Christ in the guitar world but you got to give her credit on several different levels. First off her taste in guitars. She played three Gibsons during the show. First she pulled out her black Les Paul. I was too far away to see the guitar with any detail but it looked like a custom, could have been a classic... It had no pick up covers, was fully bound but had nothing on the headstock except for Gibson at the top. Next she pulled out a SG... Looked like the purple Robot SG but again I was too far away to see if it had the MICK contoll or just the regular tone knobs. Last she played a black acoustic, I'm not up on my acoustic models so I don't know which one it was...

The production, visual FX, lighting were on a level that I haven't seen in years... Unbelieveble... Reminded me of the Yes concerts I saw in Boston when I was a kid. Also you have to consider she is in her fifties now and danced and sang for two hours non stop...

Say what you will but my hats off to Madonna... No to mention she pulled in 50,000 fans at the concert....

PS The photos I took are of the images from the massive led lighting screens on either side of the stage...

I saw Yes at the Boston Garden several times in the mid to late 70s including their 'In The Round' tour. Were those the shows you were at? I'm really not a Madonna fan but I believe it's an LP classic she uses. I've seen close ups and it has those awful yellowish 'fake-aged' inlays.

Yes... I was there, I saw them every time they came to Boston in the 70's not to mention, king Crimson, Jethro Tull, Led Zepplin...etc They were events that we all went to see every time they came to town. luckily Boston was a venue that all the big acts came too... I was at the Doors concert in Boston that they used to do the Live album. I even saw Janis Joplin at the Hampton Beach Casino. I was just a kid and my big brother took me...

Although it can be embarrassing to admit I'm from Massachusetts, I must say Boston is a great music town. Besides the 70s Garden shows(Yes, Tull, Bad Co., Queen, Aerosmith, AC/DC, ZZ Top, plus others) I have seen many a fine concert at The Music Hall and The Orpheum. Sadly even though they have been my favorite group since I was a teenager I never got to see Zeppelin. Remember there was a riot waiting for tickets and the kids destroyed the Garden and LZ was banned from Boston. I did many years later get to meet Jimmy Page though, shake hands, autograph. I was working in the music industry in NYC at the time. Are you originally from MA Dave?

I saw her live in Athens last Saturday, the last European stop of her Sticky & Sweet Tour!

and YES she plays the guitar! not only 2 beautiful acoustics (black Hummingbird and a black J-200) but also a black Les Paul and a custom SG!

more than 72,000 fans in the Olympic Stadium!!:D/

Madonna's been playing the guitar since 2000, her guitar teacher and guitar player at shows/concerts is Monte Pittman (who is also in the metal group called PRONG)
