When I went to school we had the cane or a rule over the hands. It never did us any harm. We learnt discipline and respect. That's what's missing now. Our kids are big softies. They cry over everything. They catch everything because they're too clean and they cry wolf over stupid things. A smack never hurt a child. A beating would though.
