This_Dying_Soul
Jeff Beck Live !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Been there, done that.........Better than the best.....always..... Yup, my wife has never heard of him before - despite the fact she's seen him in my BB King Live By Request DVD, watched his Tribute to Les Paul with me, and have several of his songs in my mp3 collection. I feel she's in for a special treat considering she appears to be clueless as to what to expect... just like when I took her to see BB King... however, she's learned that if I'm enthusiastic about seeing someone live, once she's experienced the show she's usually not disappointed. Since finding out about this show however, I'm surprised how many people don't know who Jeff Beck is... even people who grew up in the 60's and 70's respond to his name with "who's that?". Of course, when the people old enough they should remember him are told that when Clapton left The Yardbirds, Beck was his replacement; even if they don't remember him, they immediately understand I'm talking about someone who is on the same level as Clapton. I can't wait. Seems since The Rolling Stones drew 80,000 people here in 2005, the concert scene has been looking good. Now that the casino is here it's helped even more because the casino seems be filling the void for a medium sized venue - the nightclubs are too small for most touring artists, the arena is either too large or too small depending on the group, and the outdoor venue is mainly used for day long or weekend long music festivals with headliners that are capable of drawing way more people than the arena would hold.
