kleinman
http://imageshack.us/g/31/body3yn.jpg/ Hi, can you suggest me your opinion about this es 175 of 1988? the year...is good or bad for these guitars? thanks a lot, your opinion is very important! there is a link where you can see some photos of the guitar all the best I just saw this....I recently got one very similar to this. Mine is a 1986. The interesting aspect of these models (circa '83-'90)is that they have mahogany back and sides....beautiful warm sounding instruments. And the built quality is outstanding. Will post some pics of mine later on.

Twang Gang
Gibson has been making this model since the 50s sometime? Not much to worry about as far as good or bad years. The fact that this is mahogany back and sides instead of maple should give it a really nice warm woody tone and it looks to be in great condition from the photos. Looks like a keeper to me. kleinman
My '86 ES-175 has a nice late 50's neck profile.....a very decent jazz box http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/104500-gibson-es-175-with-mahogany-back-and-sides/
