ieatfud Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 Just wanted to know if this Les Paul looks genuine to you guys, because I am planning to buy it. The guy said its from the 1990s. Here are the pics.
BigKahune Posted October 24, 2011 Posted October 24, 2011 . Welcome. There are no pictures with your post. You might want to read this help info on posting pictures to this forum - http://forum.gibson.com/index.php?/topic/11005-sticky-how-to-post-photos/ Post an straight overhead shot of the whole guitar, shots of the front and back headstock. And a closer overhead shot of just the body. No angles.
ieatfud Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 Oops sorry here is the link to the pics, sorry theres a lot of pics so I cant really post it one by one. http://s1099.photobucket.com/albums/g390/ieatfud/
BigKahune Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 . From what I can in the pics, it looks legit. .
ieatfud Posted October 25, 2011 Author Posted October 25, 2011 I have no reason to think that is not legit. So its a genuine one right??
cjmwrx Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 So its a genuine one right?? It "Looks" legit. Not sure if the bridge pickup is original, or the locking tuners. But it does look like a Studio should. In any case, call Gibson Customer Service, and run the serial # through them. If it comes back as an Ebony Studio, I would say your good to buy, if the price is right. That one isn't the cleanest. I wouldn't pay more than about 6-700.00 for it. Gibson did do some weird stuff over the years, it could be some Studio Pro or something like that. Might be limited. Call Gibson.
ChristianS Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Or try this... http://guitardaterproject.org/gibson.aspx Although this doesn't confirm the model...!
mojjett Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 The pics aren't great, but I don't see anything that makes me suspect it's fake. It looks like a slightly modded beaten Studio.
