FennRx
i think the 60s may have been DC'd...but my 50s neck is still pretty slim. much thinner than my Studio's 50s neck
Geetar_Axl
Yeah whats up with that. The 50's Neck on the Faded Standard is as thin as my Epi LP Junior nearly, does the 60's one even have a neck lol?!
GuitarJunkie
My faded Tobacco burst has the '50s neck. It feels substantial enough, but doesn't even come close to the neck on my GOW '67 SG. That thing is Eric Cartman fat!!! I'm not sure how authentic the neck profiles are on the faded LPs.
jakatone
yeah,i heard that thicknes varies from model to model....i have a 50´s neck on my studio and that thing is FAT....i kinda prefer fat necks...thinner necks seem more comfortable in the beginning but when you play a 3-4 hour gig,you hands fall apart....i have that problem with my tele, but never with a gibson....so does anyone have a studio AND a LP faded....i could really use the comparrison. damn....sorry about poor english
GuitarJunkie
Sorry, don't have a Studio (yet). And believe me, your english is great. MUCH better than some people who's only language is english.

Both have the "rounded 50s neck." But the Studio's is bigger. That being said, my Faded is my number 1- so much easier to play. The thinner finish is the main thing. The Studio has a thick finish that get sticky when your hands sweat. The Faded's neck does not.

If my memory serves me correctly, the neck is a lot thinner and faster than my 95 Studio. I would say it's pretty close to the Std Faded.

GuitarJunkie
Not to try and panic you, but the new Gibson website doesn't show the faded LP anymore...
jakatone
? does anyone know why....but i doubt that they´ll put them out of production....it seem that the demand for faded LP´s is still verly large.i would be a bad bussines move:)
