mclmk8d
I'm trying to date a CS-336 with the following S/N CS-75737. I know the Guitar Dater project doesn't handle custom shop guitars. Could somebody kindly interpret the above number for me. Thank you in advance
Tim Plains
http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Support/SerialNumberSearch/ This should help you. You can't get much information from CS serial numbers, just the year really. Custom Shop regular production models CSYRRRR CS stands for "Custom Shop" Y indicates the production year RRRR indicates the guitar's place in the sequence of production Example: CS10845 is the 845th reg. production CS model produced in 2001. Darryl Ryan
Can someone please help me? I’ve seen a Gibson cs336 for sale with a serial number CS87917. Is this legit? cheers
Twang Gang
To original poster probably a 2007, but it could also be a 2017 if they made any that year? I have CS 356 that was made in 2017. They tend to make a few, then stop for a year or so then make a few more. Same goes for Darryl, could be a 2008 or a 2018. The OP was in 2008 which rules out a 2017 model. Yes, we all get caught out by this thread resurrection thing!
