If I have to carry a heavy case very far it messes up my hands and I can't play very well. The basic idea is similar to those gray thermo-plastic cases Martin uses but with a rectangle outline. I don't recall if this one was included. Are you planning to carry your guitar on airline travel? For what its worth, I take an acoustic with me on just about every business trip I take. I travel on average 3 or 4 times a month and always carry it on. Have used several soft cases but been using a Reunion Blues soft case for the past several years. Never had a problem and frankly don't even worry about it anymore. I usually bring my J45 TV with me since its the lightest but have carried others aw well!
