BluesKing777
Interesting bridge on Gibson listed on eBay: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Vintage-Gibson-Acoustic-Guitar-LG-0-1965-w-case-/200869217176?pt=AU_Musical_Instruments_Instruments&hash=item2ec4bd0398&_uhb=1#ht_500wt_1156 BluesKing777. jdd707
Probably not a fashion statement. Most likely a replacement for the plastic bridge. Just like my '66 except I think the placement is better on mine. ">
zombywoof
That kinda just looks like the standard plastic bridge to me - although this one seems to actually lop over the pickguard a bit which you don't usually see so it could be some kind of replacement. I think it's the oxidized original plastic bridge, just photographing an off color. It looks to me like the treble side is wedged against the pickguard. I'm guessing that one or more of the lag screws has pulled out of the back of the bridge, and it has shifted. Either that or the holes through the top for the lags are elongated, possibly from the pull of too-heavy strings.
