STAR CHILD Posted December 8, 2008 Posted December 8, 2008 I went down to Guitar Center here in Sacramento, CA hoping to buy a new LES PAUL TRADITIONAL, but they were out of stock! So, I picked up a new 2008 Standard to try her out, the thing was so light; I was disappointed!!! So I looked in the PLATINUM ROOM, they had this beautiful 68 LES PAUL CUSTOM, REISSUE, CHERRY FLAME TOP WASHED. The asking price was $3,500, so my wife looked at the back of the guitar and noticed a scratch. My wife was able to get the price down to $2,400 out the door!!! I am so happy with my new baby, a little scratch is nothing. The serial number is 075478, and I was wondering if anyone knows what kind of pickups are in her? Guitar Center could not find the Certificate of authenticity or the CARE KIT that comes with the guitar. They are going to contact Gibson about this. They didn't have the black Custom pick guard either? Thanks a lot guy's:d/

RichCI Posted December 9, 2008 Posted December 9, 2008 Congrats! The scratch is nothing; the back is going to get a bit beat up eventually anyway so I would consider that to be an ideal bargaining point. Yeah, Customs weight a ton; mine is over 10 pounds according to the bathroom scale.
