SimpleSi
I'm looking at getting a 2011 Custom Iguana Burst LP.. Wanting opinions on the Maple fretboard - I've had mixed reviews about it. Some people love it. and a good amount hate the fact that it isn't rosewood or ebony.. Honest opinions here please Pictures via link http://imgur.com/a/Wtdpg Simon
BobF_
OK, honesty it is! I would LOVE that neck/FB on a transparent wine read or dark cherry LP. There is no neck/FB imaginable that would make me like the rest of that guitar! ;-))
CR9
I like the maple fret boards on the late 70's Les Pauls but have not tried any of the new ones. I did have a LP a few years ago with a Hickory fretboard and loved it.

BobF_
Think it matches the green? or does it look like it needed to be Rosewood/baked maple instead? The green is light enough that *my* taste would be a darker FB.

Twang Gang
I recently (December) bought a LP Classic Custom with the baked maple fretboard and really like it. I had owned two LPs previously both with rosewood boards, and the maple works just fine and feels good to me. It would be best if you can play the guitar first to see if it is to your liking or go to a shop and just play any LP with the maple neck to see how it feels to you. btoth76
I like it on my Tele. The baked maple on my CC is great, but a completely different type of fretboard, much closer to ebony than to...well...maple. A maple-boarded Black Beauty or a Natural is on my wish-list too! Cheers... Bence
