tweed2
I'm considering adding a mini humbucker at the neck of my tele. I want to get a little more zotz out of the neck and have a little more grunt to mix with the hot bride pickup. I don't want to spend much, it's a low budget guitar, so SD, DiM, Lollar and Gibson are out. I've heard good things about GFS. Anybody use one of their mini's? Bender 4 Life
I added a set of them (hot bridge/std neck) to a $139 SX guitar and between that and upgraded electronics, i'd put it up against any $1000 guitar out there !! they make them "soapbar" style and "Firebird" ring style....and several different windings. Aoresteen
I have not used a GFS mini-humbucker per se but I have used a bunch of Artec mini humbuckers and they are super! Artec makes GFS pickups. Here's an Artec mini on my S-310 white: And one in my Yellow FAT-310: Not an Artec but a 1999 Epiphone mini out of a Epi Les Paul Deluxe: Here's an Artec Mini in the bridge on my Squier Bullet Special: I bought all my Artecs off of eBay from Hong Kong dealers with no issues. They cost less than what GFS sells them for. Example: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Artec-Mini-Humbucker-Les-Paul-Neck-Pickup-Chrome-/160986727667?pt=Guitar_Accessories&hash=item257b8e84f3#ht_3032wt_932 I love the sound of the Artec minis. Give them a try!

rednefceleb
I've read lots of good things on GFS. Pickups/pedals and Xaviere is a good looker. I am sure the mini would do the trick. Earl Slick endorses them.
moosesyr
I've got a set in an upgraded Brownsville (SAM ASH) Soul buddy tele to replace several differnt p-90 combinations I've tried. They sound OK. Clear, articulate. I've never played other mini hums so I dont know how they compare but definitely quieter than the p-90's. I've had a various GFS pups with mixed results, some better than others. keeffan
I put a GFS Liverpool Mini HB in the neck of my tele and couldnt be happier. The Liverpool and Memphis are "Filtertrons" in a HB or mini HB size case.
BaZie
Many people say Entwistle pickups are good (and cheap). There is a mini-humbucker for both neck and bridge position. For unknown reason, it's not listed on the web page, but available at the authorised resellers on ebay. Personally I haven' tried their minis yet, but I consider putting one into Epi Nighthawk. You may also consider Tesla pickups, there are minis too. http://www.entwistlepickups.com/ http://www.teslapickups.com/
