E-minor7
Okay, maybe then it's just me being ignorant. I've never heard of an ebony guitar. The ad says only 45's were made, but that must in recent time. slimt - can you describe the sound/characteristics ?
slimt
The Black finish never hurt the Tone what so ever,, But they are hard to maintain.. scratches, Smudges.. I believe from what I remember.. My J45s has the script and banners as well... I also ordered at that time a Ebony Dove. 1992 model.. I didnt like the bleached Natural top and Plain Flame wood behind the cherry.. E-minor7
The Black finish never hurt the Tone what so ever,, Still wonder what defines the tone of that wood. I walked around thinking ebony was for boards, bridges and black notes.

Wait - are you talking about the color of that guitar (black=ebony), or are you thinking the guitar is made from ebony wood? No . . . . it's a joke . . . right? E-minor7
Oh yes, my mistake – first I thought it was all ebony, then saw the top was adirondack, but kept believing the back and sides were the dark wood. You know how they experiment sometimes, , , bubinga, all hog, zebra, gold-tops. Besides the ad said : True Vintage Acoustic Guitar in Ebony. Thanks for clearing this up guys - ! Thread-titel hereby changed !
