  1. I’m jealous, Anne!……You will do great.  You write really good lyrics and are easy-to-listen-to.  If you make it big, don’t forget us….lol….God Bless!  I hope you learn a lot of helpful stuff.

  2. Like numerous other Gibson models, the J45 is whatever Gibson decides it is and literally all of them are really sweet guitars.   My J45TV is a J45.  Don’t know that the “true vintage” designation makes it much different than most J45s (no matter what the moniker is).   It certainly doesn’t make it any better.  Still, it’s an awesome guitar, no matter what its name is……BTW, you will enjoy this forum.  Lots of us have been here for lots of years.   Join in on lots of threads.  You don’t have to own a Dove, etc. to give your viewpoint or ask questions.

That's very nice of you to say.

To be honest, I didn't chose this song....a friend suggested I learn it.... George Jones' arrangement is SO different from Chris Stapelton's was pretty intimidating, (and let's face it....both of them are "singer's singers"!

Yes, they are on a different level.  ……I once worried about following them on-stage, but I quickly realized that would never happen.😥

  4. I love Gibsons and always will.  Haven’t had a Martin for over a dozen years now.  However, my Martin D35 Johnny Cash (2018) is far-and-beyond the $3200 I paid for it.  It’s the only Martin I’ve been really wanting and it does not disappoint.  My wife gave me permission to look at a new one, but I found an absolutely great one on Reverb.  It’s the equal of any of the many guitars I’ve owned.   You can’t go wrong with a top notch guitar from Gibson or Martin.  All the quality, tradition, and mojo are already there.

  5.  Not sure I’ll watch this one.  Sequels/etc. often fail to match the original.……I really liked all the intrigue and backstabbing in Game of Thrones.  Of course, seeing the Dragon Queen naked also helped me enjoy it.

  6. Never been much of a Zappa fan, but I’ll always appreciate his warnings about yellow snow.  ……Seriously, I’ve known numerous people who really liked him, but I just kind of went a different direction in music.

I completely agree. I have never heard anyone who doesn’t play guitar(99% of the population) comment on the quality of acoustic tone when listening to a song. Ever. Those same people don’t even notice what make/model guitar is being played. And if told, it would have no real meaning to them.

    You are 1,000,000,000% correct.

  8. I tend to prefer the single pick guard, but wouldn’t rule out the double.  However, if the pick guard design rubs-off easily I wouldn’t want the double pick guard.  For me, the double pick guard enhances the guitar’s beauty, but also its price, so if the design disappears easily I don’t want it.

  9. I play solo gigs mainly.  Rarely team-up anymore.   I get paid, but if I like the gig, I’d play it for free.  I simply enjoy playing.  I like playing music for an audience.  The only “open mics” I play are the two that I’m hosting each month at two local wineries.   Wineries pay decently, but I have fun and would do them for less.    My weekly coffeehouse gig is the sweetest gig I’ve ever played.  Starting a second coffeehouse in September and I think I’ll really enjoy it too.  If not, I’ll find a different one. ……It’s great and “God bless you” if you’re making good money gigging.  You are likely far more talented than I am.  I’m just a self-taught hack.   I make gas money and tips, but the main thing is I have a lot of fun.  I play  festivals when I can busk on a corner.
