Pissed off at me again, glad I’m on the farm I got plenty of places to hide from her. Holy! Hell hath no fury like a pissed off woman. Worse, pissed off German woman.

Here’s how you cool-down the situation.   Tell her you truly want to see things from her perspective.  Then, go in the kitchen and stare out the window.

  2. Kind of reminds me of some of the crop circles we see around the world.  Or, the women’s body fluid suggestion is also interesting.  Or, someone somewhere along the lifeline of this guitar was was being ornery and wantied to create a situation where people like us are doing what we’re doing…….If it’s just a sticker, I’d just remove it.  If it’s really stuck on there, just leave it.  You know it’s a Gibson Bird, so it’s a sweet guitar.

And I doubt that if we ever met face-to-face we'd laugh our asses off about this.  I'm already 'bout laughed out about it now. [thumbup]

I’d laugh!  Sorry you wouldn’t.  Adios and take care.

Did you know Coumadin (Warfarin)started out as rat poison? It's still used today as a rodenticide.

Yeah, Coumadin is a derivative of Dicoumarol (spelling?) which was used as a major rat control poison for many years.  However, doctors found that by itself, Coumadin was an excellent anti-coagulant for human blood.  My dad died at 96 ( a month short of 97) and he was on Coumadin for over 30 years.    It can be a life-saver.

Just pointing out something I shouldn't have to.  Like how stating you  didn't know what you were listening to makes you look stupid.  And I wasn't claiming you should have said "not my cup of teat" but suggesting you should have said you didn't like it in the first place. You know, use that "street vernacular"  you claim to typically use.

And I know you can't be dumb enough to not realize "stretch your legs" in this case was a figure of speech.  Perhaps I should have used, "expand your horizons" instead.  Just like your "Lee retreated from Gettysburg"  is a figure of speech.  But would be more sensible to have referenced something more contemporary to your lifetime, which is basically the longest reach of your experience.   And you don't necessarily have to play any music you don't really like.  But it doesn't hurt you or anyone to like more different types of music than you have the talent to play.  And BTW;  If I had the talent any of the three in the OP have I might be able to play ALL of the music I like.  [wink]

And I'm not "all worked up" about anything.  But I do get a bit testy when anybody takes anything I post(which is in simple English) out of context.

    Peace out

    Whitefang

I confess, young man, you’re likely right.  I ain’t real bright and there’s lots things that have made me look stupid….After all, I’ve been around since Lee retreated from Gettysburg…..And thank you for reiterating that I don’t have to play music I don’t care for…..and I don’t care if it don’t hurt me to play other music…I just don’t care to play it……BTW, I’m very relieved to hear that you are just “testy.”   And beyond all the bull crap——" I wish you and your family the very best in life.  Please don’t be “testy” with them.  It just ain’t worth it and family is all we’ve got………….…I bet if we ever meet face-to-face that we’ll laugh our asses off about this.

They were playing music.  I'm surprised you didn't recognize the Latin-Flamenco influence in the piece and the style in which it was played.  And you could have simply stated it wasn't your cup of tea without trying to fool us into thinking you were old enough to have been playing guitar since before 1863(when the battle of Gettysburg took place)  [wink]  Yeah, I know what you meant by that,  Would be playing the same kind of music you've been playing all your life.  And if you looked into Ms. Isbin's and Mr. Lubambo's backgrounds you'd realize that's basically what THEY were doing.  Jordan is just another talent who stretches his legs musically(try it sometime Missouri,  you might like it) as classical and Latin flavor is just one of the many styles he's studied and played.  All his life.    Now maybe you can fathom what THIS guy is playing? (hint:  He played it all his life too)-----

    Whitefang

Relax.  Calm down.  This is not worth being all worked-up over.  Family is, but not this.   Also, I don’t say “not my cup of tea.”   I just typically use street vernacular and say I don’t like it or something similar.   Has nothing to do with the talent of those doing what I don’t like.  ……..Also, hurts to  stretch my legs, because I’m an old guy who has been sitting here playing the music I like since Lee retreated from Gettysburg and besides, I can’t fathom why you are so upset.   ……I watched the video you provided and this guy is a superb guitar player.   He’s almost like  Roy Clark, Glen Campbell, or Chet Atkins.  Wish I was as talented as he is, but I’m not and I just don’t care about playing what he excels at.   I’m lucky enough to play what I play.     Beyond that , I’m not here to get in a pissing contest with anyone and if that’s what you’re after, you win, because I don’t care.  Life is too short for crap like this and that’s what this is.

Your wording made it seem you were critical of them not playing music that they may have been playing for years.  And the first part, "I don't know what I was listening to."  I provided a possible title of the number.   If you meant something otherwise I'm at a loss of what's behind that comment.  As for me, I knew I was listening to three very talented musicians play a well constructed and tightly presented piece of music.

    Whitefang

I believe I said they were very talented.  I have no idea what they were playing,   If you’re looking for something behind that comment, keep looking and let me know if you find it.   I’m just saying it’s not  something I enjoy listening to.   That doesn’t make me right and someone else wrong.  All it means is that if I had their talent I’d still be playing the same kind of music I’ve been playing since Lee retreated from Gettysburg.

I think it was a tune called "Poro" from Isbin's  "Guitar Passions" CD.  Which I did wind up ordering.  Don't really know what you were trying to imply there with the "Lee retreated from Gettysburg."  bit.

    Whitefang

Not implying anything.  I said I’ve been playing the same kind of music for many years and even if I had their talent I’d still play the music I play.  Have no idea what you are implying.

  9. Each of them is very talented, but in all sincerity, I don’t know what I was listening to.  I suspect if I had that kind of talent I’d still play the kind of music I’ve been playing since Lee retreated from Gettysburg.

    Hi Larry

    yea,

I use mine a lot, to use the amp, you need to install their x-brace which is a very low risk installation.  Uses double sided tape pads.  the xbrace is very light, made of plasct with four small (but powerful) magnets which secure the amp to the back of the guitar.

I've had the x-brace in 4 guitars now and they cause no harm.

    I don't have the x-brace installed in my J200

It's not an "Amp" to use instead of a full acoustic amp.  The way it works, is that gives you around the same volume as the guitar, (maybe a little louder) with effects.

The reverb and delay are pretty much the only effects I use.

It does require some tweaking of the Global settings to get it set right for your guitar, and you can set multiple guitars and multiple effect settings for each guitar.

Battery life is meh,  you get about 4 or 5 hours out of 3 AA batteries

let me know if you have any questions I can help with.

Thanks, kid!  I’m considering one.  Reverb and delay for me also.  The slight boost in sound would help at library gigs too.  I think I’d enjoy it simply noodlin’ around.
