  1. I use a Roland XP Cube 50 {watts) for all my coffeehouse and most winery gigs and a Yamaha Stage Pas (100 Watts) for bigger outdoor stuff.    I can carry all my gear (bag with accessories, mic/music stands, amp, guitar) in 2-3 trips and set-up/tear-down in ten minutes.  All my coffeehouse equipment is pretty lightweight.  The heaviest piece is the Roland at 16 lbs.  It’s fast and easy and I’m lazy, so it’s a good match.

  2. I hope you all had a happy and blessed Easter.   Whatever you do or don’t believe, I hope this day was good for you.        BTW, those chocolate rabbits I made for you, I accidentally used Ex Lax in them instead of milk chocolate.

  3. I’ve always liked watching Big Country, with Gregory Peck, Charleston Heston, Jean Simmons, Chuck Connors, Burl Ives, Charles Bickford, Carol Baker.  Great movie.  Burl Ives kind of steals every scene he’s in.  Powerful actor, with a stage presence as big as he was……..Another one I’m hoping they bring back soon is Deep Throat.  I here that they’ve updated their rating system and it now has a rating of PG-13 by current standards and that Disney may air it.

  4. Last week a friend of mine and his wife had a huge fight.  She left and hasn’t come back yet.  I asked him how  he was doing.  He said he was doing fine and that he had plenty of fish sticks in the freezer.

    Big, big day today.

Up at 5:45 am, and walked my daily 2-hour, 6-1/2 miles.

Showered, and spent two hours customizing a used hockey helmet-goalie mask I received yesterday from ebay, and then welcomed my music bud.

We schmoozed and played for a few hours until I left to get a haircut.

At 11:15 pm, I'll be on the ice for my usual Friday night hockey game and try out my new mask for the first time.

Oh. And tomorrow is my 74th birthday.

Have a great birthday!  Remember, us old dudes are supposed to be patient and kind, as well as being libraries of wisdom and knowledge.  Hell, I’ll be 75 at the end of June.  Having the time of my life.  Real busy with family and playing more music than ever before…….  Wish I could play hockey.  I’ve never been good on ice skates.

The switch for these active onboard systems is in the guitars' output jack: if a cord is plugged in the circuitry is ON and the battery is being used. Hurrah for passive systems!

Exactly, Buc, that's how i understand it.  At a gig, i don't plug a guitar cable in until I'm ready to start playing.

  7. Haven’t watched it or The Oscars for years.  The older I get, the more obvious it becomes that the majority of those people are full-of-**** and/or into some sort of perversion.  Anyway, I had to walk the dog.

It's still touch and go for me.  I finally got in last night, had time to answer a message left for me, but trying to get back to the topics list bumped me off and I couldn't get back in until this morning.  Then when clicking on "Submit Reply"  to enter a reply on Badbluesplayer's thread about his son's restaurant I was brushed out again.  Gave it a rest until just 15 minutes ago.   Have no idea if or when I'll be able to log back on again once I leave this time.

But glad to get back any time I can.    Missed y'all, really.  [love]

You missed us?  You are truly a glutton for punishment.

  9. Really  good job, Bud!  Sweet bird!   As always…… As far as teeth are concerned, my mom had great teeth and all but one of them when she died at 93.  My dad had bad teeth his entire life and I seem to be following his path.  I’ve got 19-20 of the original 32 and having issues with some of those survivors.   I imagine a bunch of us in here know where you’re coming from…….   So long as I can chew steak, I’ll be okay.

  10. I only have acoustics and I couldn’t pick just one guitar.  At one time it was easily my Gibson Hummingbird, but over all these years all the other Gibsons have also earned my attention.  My favorite guitar is likely which ever one I happen to be playing.  Today at my weekly gig, I had a blast with my J45TV.  I love all of them.
