Maybe that’s why we all have allergies to everything.   Like peanuts, seafood and air.

Makes sense to me. I mean, we had preservatives in the 60's and 70's too, but they weren't THAT damned good.

Maybe that explains the rampant stupidity, as well...

  2. Flour tortillas don't mold anymore? And is that safe to eat?

When I was a kid, we moved to Arizona. I got into some Mexican food, me...

But those flour tortillas would be all moldy in like 3 days. It was uncanny how fast they would go bad. In the fridge, out the fridge, didn't matter.

I found some the other day that had fallen back behind the dog food container and they must have been there for 2 weeks. Still looked perfect. Made me want to make a burrito and try 'em out.

    I didn't, but still....

Now that I think about it, bread used to mold up a lot quicker, too. When I bake fresh bread (yea, I'm a baker) it's only good for few days, but the store bought loaves last forever.

    This can't be good, eh?

  3. It's a good thing and may God bless you for it.

Both of mine have been gone a while. Ask as many family history questions as you can.

That's stuff you'll wonder about once there is no-one left to ask...

  4. I couldn't partake in the hot-rod phase much as a teenager because I was gigging biker bars at age 17, I had to haul amps and p.a. gear and it was the 70's so the obvious answer most of the time was a van. But I never had a really nice one, all my expendable money went to gear, girls, beer and stuff.

I do, however remember this being true...

  5. I made some Christmas presents last night in America with dead American cow hide. A small sheath for my brothers Puma and some misc key hangers for whoever. Yea, I can't sew for crap. Gonna stick to Chicago screws and copper rivets.

We live in a different time and place than the 70s now. This performance is stellar. Comparing it to the original is irrelevant.

    I agree 100%.

Dolly gave it her own touch while respecting the fact that this is the most loved classic song on her "rock" album.

Congrats on that Beauty! One of my friends left one of those at my house for a few years while he was on the road.. They are outstanding 12 String Guitars! Sadly, one day he came home & picked it up.. I wanted to buy it but it wasn’t for sale..

You should have just moved while he was gone.

I listened to the whole thing. Very well produced if not a bit too much vocal howling in the outro, but then again it's a singer's album.

Brought back a lot of memories from the70's.

I thought it was downright haunting hearing Ronnies voice on a new recording, and pulling his own harmony out of the mix was freaking brilliant. I too played a lot of Skynyrd, in bars, throughout the late 70's, 80's, 90's and well into the aughts before going completely acoustic.

It's a chilling recording for someone with that history, for sure.

In the part just before the guitar solo, Dolly's and Ronny's voices interact in an incredible way. Goose bumps from a really old song done in a beautiful new way! 😄

I was shocked to hear Ronnie's voice, had no idea this had been done.

And then read about Gary recording for Dolly's version and the fact that Artimus was brought in and some fences mended was fantastic.

Artimus can be a whacko, but the clock is always ticking and I'm glad they got this done.

    Now, retire the name....
