Absoluelty! Think I'll keep the toothpaste in the bathroom Still undecided about the scratch. All I know is it won't polish out. Too deep Not sure about the pens advice as to me would be just the same as using a tiny brush and , what should be , the correct material to fix it .... Lars and his water based paint with the ability to wipe off excess is making the most sense at this time A gentle wipe should leave the scratch filled up Thinking thinking thinking

Ah you guys ! Here's me hoping for some encouragement, all I'm getting is don't do it Not gonna dive in , never was ... and I'm not paying a man money for the sake of a scratch. I've tried all polishes Think I'm making it whiter by using them If it was a straight line I'd leave it as it might look like player wear But it's so odd , and I honestly don't know how it got there. All I can think of is changing strings and some weird circumstance with the end of a thin string did it. Because it's such a weird shape I seriously hate it . Think I'd rather have a black line that I could remember doing 😄

I doubt that. The scratch is all I see The guitars not pristine , and I don't worry about that but it's such a shitty scratch I'll take a pic when I get home I kinda new I'd have to use a pinhead or something Any advice will be appreciated Thanks lads

I had a j29 and I don't feel it had the sonic spectrum that graph is showing. I had a couple of Martin rosewoods and would agree with the graph but the Gibson was kinda .... 'stifled' ?

No worries , appreciate the ramblings I too thought it was a 1979 but the seller says it's not a 17 at the start of the serial number , though it sure looks like it to me . He says its two 1's A '11' at start of number puts it 1975 It has the hump on the back which I'm thinking makes it laminate back with solid sides and top. Anyone make anything of the action ? Can be seen ,barely in one of the pics , seller says it has been set up and inspected by a luthier who is highly regarded in these parts. I'm trying to shift a guitar and don't want to go visit a guy when I've no money in my pocket and waste his time Any ammo I get before I get there is valuable Thanks fellas
