  1. Ditto kidblast Much as I love the guys i played alongside over the years , i feel much happier on my own , surprising less stressful than with others , guess I'm much less worried about making a fluff on my own than when someone else has their name on the poster too That and of course , no matter how nice the other person is , they ALWAYS have little foibles that should be nothing but get tiresomewhys it always me who seems to be rolling up the cables , or , jeez hes great at that tune but I hate playing it It's a real miracle to find a partner in music and get the absolute synchronicity necessary When I think about bands who've been together for decades it makes me think how lucky they are
  2. How many of the songs you play would be songs that either your partner wants to play and you have to and how many are songs that 'the crowd like' ? Completely understand the needing a break , is tough enough to find the energy necessary to gig while theres a proper job and a wife and just the rest of the world that unfortunately doesn't stop turning while you have a little fun.
  3. 👍 Just googled it Give me a while until I get back off the floor 450 pounds 😲
  4. Sorry murph , I wasnt poo pooing what you said , just messing Am a fan of all you listed there and a few more who mix pickup with mics Hell even Jackson Browne who designed what is thought as the end all and be all of pickups adds a mic when he plays live Ryan Adams (dont start) Jeffrey foucault Pickup and mic blend I'm only looking into it all because we all wanna sound as best we can , some helpful answers here
  5. Murph , delighted to hear that your audience is as quiet as a Dane Rawlings one
  6. Yeah , you've got it Mic for singing , at my face Pickup for guitar blended with a second mic pointed at the guitar Am I painting a clear enough picture here ?
  7. Thanks jinder Bright is not what I'm after The m80 sounds better on YouTube recordings The magmic not so good Then theres the rare earth blend 🤣🤣 Ah dear , no end to it is there
  8. I really do hope that the joke doesnt go over someone's head and they try that
  9. I'm lost , powered speakers? Where did they come from ?? And why get 4 channels instead of 2 ? Sorry, but am easy confused
  10. Cheers jinder That would be similar to the baggs m80 ?
  11. Haha , a roadie I'm my own roadie Have looked at the pickups with mic attached ie. Fishman blend etc Yes I still want to use the amp, not sure why you asked that ? Be a lousy gig with no amp Just seems to me that the guys who do it professionally mix their pickup sound with a mic in front of the guitar Just a mic brings issues and just a pickup could sound better .... Always trying to improve, if it sounds good to me then I'm happier hence better gig , theory anyway
  12. My Fishman soloamp has two inputs , one for mouth and one for guitar Say I wanted to use a mic in front of guitar in conjunction with the pickup , what do I need ? A DI box or a little two channel mixer ? Ideally dont want to spend a fortune , but after years of learning the best lesson has been buy once cry once
  13. Sure , or you could cut the toes out of a $1 sock
  14. Gibson new electric necks have had the same issue If you call it an issue
  15. Itll happen for a while, it's just the lacquer hardening, the heat of your skin and movement will be microscopically softening it I had with mine , it stops after a certain time depending on playtime Leave it out of the case if you can Wear long sleeves It can be a little painful after playing for a while when its sticking on your arm
  16. I didnt notice the date and seen onewilyfool answering Little panic for a second
  17. Couldve been worse You might have driven over something of hers Or she might've ran over the guitar itself
