Dark Bird as one mentioned may be of an acquired taste of one, such as scotch whiskey is not mine. I think as a prop is ok. Bird has no eye (I see it not going far).

Don't know if this helps any, but my dad blew a harp that had some kind of a slide bar on both sides that would switch keys back and forth and flip it over for the other keys. The only other thing I remember was that is was a Horner.
