Wasn't there a baseball movie  "The Natural" ?

There was, but I was not a "natural" despite my Mr. Natural handle.  In high school I could hit a good high school fastball and an average high school curveball.  When I got to college, all of a sudden I could only hit an average college fastball and only a hanging curve.

I had coffee and a breakfast sandwich at Starbucks, then I drove around the corner to my favorite early morning bar for more coffee WITH a double shot of Bailey's followed by a couple of beers.

The same thing I did on 2/19/22 (see above).

Nice.. I have been looking at the Mazdas.. Theres one called (I think) the MX5 RF which is the same car as yours but with a hard top..  Been so so tempted by it... If I didnt need the space my car has I would by one of these....

The MX5 RF is a retractable roof (I think).  I've got a '17 MX5 Miata, the rag top.   I love it.  It's my everyday vehicle and incredibly reliable.

I've had a '60 Austin Healey 3000, a '65 Chevy Impala SS convertible, a '67 VW Beetle convertible, and an '80 MGB (incredibly UNreliable).  The Healey was the coolest car I ever owned.  The MX5 is the most fun car I have ever owned.  I would definitely buy another.

All I know is I'm an independent so I voted against the Nazis and Russians in the last presidential election.  Never again will I have that chance.

You can do what I did in 2016 and 2020: WRITE-IN the name of someone you think is a SUITABLE candidate.  Not that it mattered in the election results, but it was more palatable (to me) than the choices we had in '16 and '20.

...   I'm guessing you saw 'Eddie Murray" and knew immediately who CAman meant - but went to Google to find some arcane person named 'Murray' you could throw back at him with some factoids going back nearly 45 years as if you could roll them off your tongue.  ....

To even an average baseball fan, Eddie Murray is not "some arcane person".

As some of you may have seen from previous posts in other threads.. I have been eyeing up a guitar for a couple of months now... Its an unusual guitar in the fact it has P90s rather than humbuckers.. You really dont see many like this.. If any others are even out there.. Its apparently a made 2 measure guitar..

From what I can tell so far its a standard 336 but with P90s and no pickguard (which very much suits me).

Also it was advertised as a 2010 model which I knew it wasnt.. From the pictures I saw on the internet it looked like the serial started with an 8.. So I thought its a 2008/2018 model..

Whats odd is it came with its QC document so you think the seller/shop would have twigged on and to my pleasant surprise  actually its a 2016.. And in looking very much closer the first number is a 6 not an 8 it has dark grain around it and was really hard to tell even in person.

So here you go.. I present my new 2016 CS 336 F with P90s  😄

  8. In addition to the Bacon and Day LP book (I can't find my copy!) and Wheeler's American Guitars mentioned above, A. R. Duchossoir's Gibson Electrics, Jay Scott & Vic Da Pra's 'Burst: 1958-'60 Sunburst Les Paul, and Flying "V" - The Illustrated History of this Modernistic Guitar by Larry Meiners are also good.

  9. You mean Paul Mc DID'NT die?!  He's still alive?!

Actually I was in high school myself in the late '60s.  I remember that whole hullaballoo.  And I remember the stink after John was "quoted" out of context to the effect that the Beatles were more popular than Jesus.
