  1. My brother and I had to move Mom and Dad into a nursing home in January 2015.  There wasn't a day after we moved them that my brother and/or I didn't visit after work.  On Saturday and Sunday morning my son and I would go visit.

My dad still had all his mental faculties; he was just  falling apart physically and wound up wheelchair bound. My mother had suffered with Alzheimer's for about four or five years before the move.  I say "suffered" but she really didn't suffer.  She was pleasant and sweet right up to her death.

She quit calling me by name about four years before she died.  She was pretty sure I was her son, she just couldn't remember my name, or anybody else's name for that matter.  She DID remember Dad's name up until about six or eight months before he died in October 2018.  She eventually just started referring to him as "my husband."  After Dad died, and I was at the nursing home to visit, she would point to his empty chair and say, "I don't know where he is."  My brother told me she did the same when he visited.  She died in January 2019.

It was a tough four years, but like I said, she was still Mom right up to the end.

I don't think the condition ever gets better but, rather, progressively worse.  You and your classmate/friend's family and other friends will have to be patient with him.  He will probably enjoy daily visits from family and friends even though he may get to a point where he doesn't recognize anyone.

Restored Golden Hofner delivered in a pristine Facel II by a young Ida Lupino.

You might find a restored Golden Hofner and a pristine Facel II, but you'd have to go WAY back in the past for a young Ida Lupino.  I know that Albert Camus died in a Facel Vega but I don't know which model.

  3. A double shot of Bailey's in coffee and a bacon, egg, and cheese taco for breakfast.  It started raining on me on the way home from breakfast.  I sat out on the back porch, smoked a cigar, and watched the rain.  It's rained off and on most of the day.  I dinked around on the internet and watched some ESPN.  Guitar-wise, I'm playing through some of my pedals trying to figure out which of them I want to keep.  It's been a lazy day.

  4. All of the above is good advice.  And, as Fish Crumpet said, "Blues isn't a sound", but if by "bluesey" you mean slightly overdriven, a master volume amp like the Blues Jr. will get you an overdriven sound at a suitable "bedroom volume".  Turn the MASTER knob all the way down and the VOLUME knob all the way up.  Then, slowly turn up the MASTER knob until you get to a acceptable volume.  Tweak to suit.

Is Eli eligible yet. I though a player has to wait 5 years after they retire to be eligible.

He is not yet eligible.  But he IS a 2-time Super Bowl winning QB not in the Hall.  Plunkett is not the only one, just the only one currently eligible.

Wasn't really "inducted", more like I snuck in the back door!

Snuck in the back door?  Well, congratulations, none the less!

Stabler only recently got in, and Jim Plunkett is still the only 2-time-winning Super Bowl QB not in the HoF....

Plunkett is not the only 2-time-winning Super Bowl QB not in the HoF.  Eli Manning is a 2-time-winning Super Bowl QB (both times against Tom Brady and the Pats, no less), and Eli's not in the Hall.

...My old band and I sometimes did the same thing (mostly instigated by the drummer), but it was only done at band practice for our own amusement and never done in public or during a performance....

When I was in college, a little three-piece from a different part of the state would come to town a couple of times a year and do a few nights at a couple of fern bars we used to frequent.  They DID do the same thing IN public, DURING a performance.  They were hilarious.  I wish I could remember their lyrics to "Muskrat Love" (among other songs).  They were a little raunchy, but the bar management didn't seem to mind, or maybe bar management wasn't paying attention when these guys were on stage.
