ParlourMan
So, I have to fly to London and on to Brighton for a wee bit of business this afternoon and finalised on Sunday, leaves me Saturday to knock about... Are there any decent stores in the brighton area of real interest to the acoustic guitar enthusiast? Seen a few listed on Google so looking for which is best. Also anywhere recommended for live music on Saturday's etc... Cheers in advance.
Jayyj
http://www.theacousticmusicco.co.uk/ is one of the UK's more interesting retailers, lots of unusual boutique stuff. GAK is a big Gibson dealer although I've never been there. Been a while since I've spent time in Brighton but it's a lovely city, particularly if you get nice weather. A few honorable exceptions aside, the UK isn't anywhere near the US in terms of quality guitar stores though - I'm always jealous when I visit the US! If its Gibsons you're after then take a side trip to Farnham, Surrey (about 1 hour south of London by train) & visit Guitar Village. They have a huge stock of Gibbies plus many other brands. http://guitarvillage.uk.com/products/150/Acoustic-Gibson.aspx

In saying that, I think I might have covered the Gibson's angle for the moment. We'll see how it goes. I used to visit Farnham quite a bit too, my mate lived there.... alternatively why not make a quick trip to Denmark Street and play some massively over priced vintage Gibsons ? Haha, will probably give that a miss, EA.... don't fancy getting gloved.
BluesKing777
Haha, will probably give that a miss, EA.... don't fancy getting gloved. That AcousticMusicCo list has some unusual name guitars. What is 'getting gloved'? Is it something to do with the Arthur Daly Musical Instrument Company or is it to do with metro stuff? , BluesKing777. Ever passed through an airport where security didn't like the look of you, invited you into a room to drop em for a quick check? Going to Denmark St is a bit like that.....
