Murph
Just looking at the Lester And Chester CD. I remember my old '72 Recording had a dark body binding, and cream/white up the fretboard. His has none on the board. Does Les not like binding on the neck, or was it just this guitar? Just sayin'...... Best of luck. Murph.
MReynolds
Might just have been his guitar...could have been the proto type for the LPR as well. Check out this site for more details...and pictures of the Man himself playing his LPR!! daveg
There were originally two or maybe three versions of the LP Personal which is seen on the Chester and Lester album. All were individually made for Les. One had a flat top and all were probably extensively worked on by him. They were not production models. Note that the pickups on this one were not slanted as per a Les Paul Recording / Professional / Personal / L5s etc DaveG
RichCI
Les probably got ripped off and bought a counterfeit Chinese copy. That would explain the lack of binding.

Murph
Wow daveg, I'd never seen that one. It is also (by design) missing the 1/2 fret. Good stuff. I should have never let my Recording go, but it was badly worn, and I was badly in need of a guitar, and short on $. Thanks. Murph.
