cliffenstein
Perhaps some folks here may find this interesting and/or useful in some way: Per Mark Brumitt of Brumitt Guitars (authorized C.F.Martin warranty/service center), the saddle on my IB64 Texan is bone. When I told him that Gibson customer service said it's "really good plastic." He replied, "they're wrong. This saddle is bone." He also stated that my Texan "is one VERY good guitar!" It was built in Indonesia in January 2014.

cliffenstein
Haha...yes, but I was expecting Gibson customer service to be correct. I was also very pleased to find out that my initial feelings about the nut and saddle being bone were spot on!
Cougar
As if you needed someone to tell you how good they are you being the number one Texan fan!!! Exactly, hahaha. Nice to have all your suspicions confirmed by a super-qualified pro, though. So, should we start calling you Tex?

bonzoboy
You really did good when you bought that Texan, when a luthier gives a guitar a glowing endorsement, you know that you have something special...enjoy.I have heard people make negative remarks about MIC Casinos ,but my Indonesian made Casino is flawless in playability, build quality and tone,it's a joy to play.Maybe the Indonesian factory has a more motivated workforce,of course just going by 2 guitars isn't enough to found a conclusive decision on but I have heard other favourable comments about MII Epis. revolver66
Did yours come with bone nut and saddle, too? Yes it deffo looks like it, and sounds like it as well. I'm seriously thinking about getting the cherry burst version as well.

I went with the AJ-220S for my full size sunburst.
revolver66
Cliff Would you recommend the AJ220S?. I've heard about some problems with neck warping and such. It is a solid top I think. Have to say they look great, and if they play as well Mrs Revolver66 will be rolling her eyes and wringing her hands.

I'd recommend the AJ-220S enough to try one out in person. I would not buy one from an online dealer. Mine is at my luthier now getting the missing 3rd fret dot added, nut and saddle bone upgrade and set up. I asked him about the neck and he said there's nothing to worry about. I think if you demo a good one then you'll be all over it.
