Those guys back in the day who were playing those guitars that are now vintage, were all avantgarde (spelling?) musicians. Thre were trying all those new gear and following the changes. The tones that those guys were aiming were completely futuristic. We people who admire those guys and go for vintage gear are going in the opposite direction. If we were to follow those guys ideals, we would be playing chambered, modeling, digital and muse-ish guitars. Not that there is any major problem with being retro...
