I've played a few now in stores. It's what you'd expect from our hosts for 500 bucks, which is not much. I don't think they do cheap well, not as well as some other folks do.

These cheap Gibby's need a tweak or two but I love them. I play the hell out of my Firebird 70's Tribute but yea, the nut could be cut a bit better and the first fret is lifting up a bit not to mention a couple of issues with the finish...not that that matters since the "mosquito repellent incident"

I am tempted to buy one of these as a gift for my brother in law.

I had always been careful, but one day I wiped my daughters forehead with my right hand not knowing that the some of glistening stuff was mosquito repellent. I was playing my Firebird and the finish melted right away, then I decided to sand off the spot and now it looks not so good. The finish on this guitar was flaking off a little bit on the corners anyway from laying it around and getting it in the gig bag so no big deal, it has become my Gibson beater. Paid $400 for it.
