surfpup
You guys may have seen this before... I have. But every time I watch it I am amazed at Jeff Beck's playing. It's 1972 and he seems to have total mastery over that thing... I think he could make any sound he wanted to at any moment. And he's a very underrated slide player too! Sure a great singer and a cracker-jack band help, but Jeff's playing is just crazy good. His guitar licks are so unique and vocal. For the whole 35 minutes I'm in awe. quapman
Yep,, he has always held a special place in my favorites list. Blow by Blow was and always will be one of my all time favorite albums.
Rabs
Yeah I seen that and agree.. Hes a totally unique player.. Like you say, every time I watch him im mesmerised.. His playing is just so out there (in a good way).. Just a master... The thing is as well, when I watch the Ronnie Scotts gig, I think hes even better now than in these older vids.. Just amazing.. Another thing I like about him is he visibly enjoys what he does so much, its always a pleasure to see that in any musician.
SteveFord
Thanks for posting this. That's the point where Jeff Beck really began to blossom as a player and he gave a lot of credit to Max Middleton. He had this line about how Max gave him taste which might put him out of a job.
