Yeah the fakes are made by Gibson In the USA and smuggled to China and then shipped to you Brits.

Jantha
There's nothing wrong with wanting an Epiphone.. they are decent guitars. But I dunno.. that one is a lot of money for what it is.
Homz
Maybe I'm wrong, but I didn't see where anyone said there was something wrong with Epi's. Different price point for different people. IMHO I would buy a Schecter C1 classic before I'd buy an Epi, but that's just me.
retrosurfer1959
I dont know about that Epi, now the 62 Wilshire reissue is a different story that's worthy of GAS
Steven Tari
Nothing wrong with Epi's. Thats all I've ever had since 1971 was a gibson family member. Kalamazoo, Then Epi My first guitar Kalamazoo. My second was a Epi Dot My Third An Epi Zephyr Blues Deluxe My forth PR-4E The fifth A 6 string humming bird, I also had a 12 string hummingbird but she grew legs and left me and her case standing there Wondering where she went forever. And the last is an Epi........ Hey wait how did that Gibson get in there?
Cat Daddy
I have been looking at guitars and' date=' maybe I'm mad... but I want an Epi.This Epi. ilg, you're not mad to want an Epi...there are quite a few Epiphones I wouldn't mind having myself! <g> In no particular order: Les Paul Ultra II Les Paul Black Beauty Tony Iommi Signature G-400 1962 Wilshire Custom Historic Prophecy LP Custom GX Prophecy LP Custom EX Prophecy SG Custom GX Prophecy SG Custom EX Prophecy Futura Custom EX Prophecy Futura Custom FX 1958 Korina Flying V 1958 Korina Explorer Casino Any Elitist model The only Prophecy models I'm not keen on are the EM-2's...I just don't like the body style. In the Prophecy line, I prefer the GX over the EX models...simply because I like the Gibson USA Dirty Fingers pickups better than the EMGs. Having said all this, for about the same money ($800-$900 street price) you could get a new Gibson Les Paul Vintage Mahogany and you wouldn't have to say "would'a, could'a, should'a" six months hence. <g> Cat Daddy

Secondly, correct, I am 13 guitarest.
Thundergod
Man, those prophecies are climbing in price arent they? I remember when they were released MFers had them at less than half of that price... damn... 1411 MRSP for an epi with just 1 volume and 1 tone control? Take a look at the special II, you'll love it... 150 bucks and with 300 you can install emg pickups and a sticker (I am just kidding, of course). ilovegibsons
How about the Ultra-II? I'm looking for something with a high level of versatility, and I thought the Nano-Mag might sound quite like a single coil (or have a more jazzy feel)? They are more or less the same price here in the UK. I'm also diggin' the elitist series, but I can't seem to find them anywhere on the Gibson site.
