darkfarmer
Greetings! I just purchased a new Epiphone Hummingbird Acoustic/Electric that uses CR2032 batteries. I am finding that the batteries are not lasting very long, like they are going dead after one use. That is, I install new batteries, play a session with no issues, return the next day and the batteries are dead. I have started removing the batteries after each session to help battery life, but is this a known problem or do I have a defective pickup draining the batteries? Any help appreciated! Thank! -darkfarmer

darkfarmer
You unplugging the cable when finished ? Buying batteries on Ebay? Buying batteries brand new. I will try disconnecting cable after each use. Is this an obvious habit that I have missed? Thanks for the reply!
QuestionMark
Generally speaking, iif you keep the guitar cord plugged into the guitar when not playing, it will still continue to drain the guitar’s battery. That could explain why your batteries are dead the next day. QM aka “Jazzman” Jeff

kidblast
wow, I've never seen a CR2032 used for a pickup. I'm not sure how long they'd last even with making sure the cable is out but yes,, definitely gotta do that. once the cable is in, the battery is engaged.
