gampadoug
Greetings all, I am interested in swapping the Burstbuckers on my 2015 ES-335 for P-90s. Can this be done w/out making permanent modifications? Thax, Gampa Doug
gampadoug
I guess I should clarify. It's obvious that a set of p-94's would fit (R/T) with no mods but will a set of DOG EAR P-90's go in with no mods/drilling etc?
dReit1
I don't think so. Different size and shape. You will need a humbucker sized P90 like the P-94 for that. Lot's of people making them though, so you shouldn't have much trouble finding some that you like.
kidblast
Curious as to why do you even want DOG Ear'd P90s? They seem very limited with how you can adjust them wrt distance to strings. You can shim them, but yeah a screw adjust ones go up and down to where you want them.

In the meantime I was considering single-coils as the buckers are kinda dark and "electronic" but have found that backing off on the gain when desiring a more "woodsie" sound is a good approach as I can always dial the gain back up when I want those buckers to bark! 🙂 Edited January 27, 2020 by gampadoug
