Nikko81
Hi all, i’ve a question, i recently bought an eds-1275 custom shop, i noticed that in the 6 string palette gibson logo there is not the dot over the i, in the 12 string there is, i searched and i haven’t found nothing, in many picture the dot is on both palette, in others only in 12 string’s, anyone knows why? thanks
Sgt. Pepper
A Custom Shop EDS-1275 and workers and QA guys missed that. Shameful. That is like a 6k guitar, right, It better be PERFECT. You better be rocking Xanadu on that and not the Olivia Newton-John kind. Edited February 19, 2020 by Sgt. Nikko81
Even on my friend’s one is like mine, i think that’s a sign of custom models to distingush from past regular production
Sgt. Pepper
I just looked at a few pics online that say they are custom shop models. I clearly see the dot over the i. Why would Gibson purposely make a mistake on their logo? Is your the MOP or the silk screened one?

Sgt. Pepper
They got it right on the 12'er. Maybe after the 12'er it was lunch and it was a 5 toke lunch instead of a 2 toke lunch. And you are the original and first owner? Edited March 6, 2020 by Sgt. Pepper
Nikko81
Not first owner, but many eds has this “issues”
Nikko81
Even the limited slash’s eds has the 6 string logo without the dot on the i

Theresa
According to Gibson, the EDS1275 being produced in the Custom Shop is patterned after a 1964 model that did not have a dot over the "i" on the 6 string headstock. When I ordered my EDS1275 I asked if they could put it on my order and their response was it would be a custom job... a $1500 up charge. Guess what... mine doesn't have a dot over the "i". Well, I asked for speed knobs instead of the sliver cap hat knobs too... guess that makes it a "Custom" Custom!!

Not even for a whole “I”, but just the dot over it, $1500. Laughable.
merciful-evans
Not dotting the 'i's ! Good job there is no 't' in Gibson on those on the Guilars
Dub-T-123
I think it’s kinda cute that they replicated that detail but either way holy shite those are cool guitars
