Real or fake

As it came from Sam Ash I think it is legit.

Also because of the way the tuners have been put on....unless it is the angle of the photo.

I'm serious.  Gibson are often/usually slapdash with tuner fitting.

Serial numbers can be tricky -

https://www.gibson.com/en-US/support/serial-number-search

ME = Memphis

I think 3 = year and it is either the 2291th guitar produced that year or the 291th produced, and built in the month of February...?   Could be totally wrong though.

:-k

The serial number format is different to this one -

Best wishes...

Nice looking Box is my very first impression. I like it regardless if it was made in Memphis OR WeiFeng.

The Truss Rod tools in the past would tell the tell. These days even the little things are   pretty much exactly right on.

Does She play nice? BIG Neck?

Enjoy this love affair is what I say.

BTW,  I've become an advocate for the Scarf Joint.  After too many years of seeing neck repairs - a recent ES-295 that had a horrid repair that looked like Uncle Dave did with Elmer's and Beer, and too too many SG's it may be time for a rethink...
