pohatu771
its an insult top real musicians who spend their who lives perfecting the beautiful art that we call music. they come in with their rich daddies and commertailism and slap us in the face. same with hannah montana and that kind of stuff boys like girls etc (again i state what kind of a name is that?)What kind of a name is anything? "The Beatles?" Not even a real word. AC/DC - taken off of a vacuum cleaner. The only people mistaking The Jonas Brothers with Led Zeppelin are pre-teen girls and the grown guitar players who feel threatened. By the way, what's wrong with commercialism? The Beatles were one of the most commercial bands around while they were active... anything that could have the Beatle name attached did.
Deadgrateful
Please don't compare the beatles with the jonas brothers... If you can't see the differences between them, well it doesn't really bare thinking about.

TWilson
I took a "History of Jazz" class in college and the instructor told a class of over 100 students that any music that wasn't Jazz was "Bubble Gum" music. Apparently he had never heard my LP of Tibetan Death Chants!!

The aforementioned pre-teen girls who might venture onto this board to read this thread are probably thinking' date=' "Lead Zeplin? Aren't they them old guys that play that 'old school' music? [/quote'] My daughter is 14 and feels that way about most of the music I listen to - "old guy music" When I'm in the car with her I will GLADLY take a Jonas Brothers song over Britney Spears, T.I., Rihanna, Beyonce, The *****cat Dolls, and her new favorite Lady Gaga. If any of your kids make you listen to The Jonas Brothers (or for that matter any music with a GUITAR, or ANY REAL instruments in it) count yourself VERY LUCKY ;) BTW, South Park had an episode a few weeks back about the hypocrasy of The Jonas Brothers, the purity rings, etc. - it was HILARIOUS and yet soooo true. It's online at their website.
Deadgrateful
Just saw that South Park episode, man the Mickey Mouse persona was frickin hilarious! It's hard for me to suggest how I would respond if my kids were to listen to the Jonas Brothers. I certainly wouldn't be angry, but I also think that a musical education would be part of there upbringing, in which case, I'd expect them to be looking slightly more to the left. Also, I'm in the UK, so the influx of mindless R&B and (don't even get me started on lady gaga) and gangsta rap is no way near as prominent as the states. I was being taken to folk, rock and world music festivals before I could do simple equations, and would like to think that I'd do the same for my kids. ninety1vee
The hate for the Jonas Bros' date=' and Hannah/Miley on this forum makes me want to puke. I have a 9 year old daughter who was taking fiddle lessons at 5 years old. And vocal lessons. Then some piano. Hannah/Miley came along and she wanted to play guitar. I bought her a cheap 3/4 acoustic, gave her some lessons, she was getting it, so I bought her a new '08 Les Paul Fireburst Studio for her 9th Birthday. She has played solo for a Christmas show with it, and opened (one song) with my working bar band in a club. The Beatles were a pop band, the Monkees, sheeze, give me a break. IT'S A GOOD THING FOR KIDS TO LIKE POP MUSIC.......................... It's not rap, hip hop, kill yer mama garbage. I swear to God, I don't get the hate for young kids having pop star dreams. I would prefer my 9 year old listen to the Jonas Bros, and Miley, than AC/DC. For a few more years. Where is your head? Murph.
