Waltbenj
Hello, I bought a new guitar ,Sheraton pro, a couple of days ago and saw now that it has a tiny crack in the top part of the neck (around fret 12). Is this something to worry about or is it just a superficial crack on the finish. I've never owned an electric guitar so this might be a dumb, obsessive question, but I would appreciate it if someone who knows a bit more than me would let me know! Thanks. Waltbenj
Is that serious?
jdgm
Not serious; a slight imperfection. Unfortunate but not uncommon. I hope the rest of the guitar is ok?
Waltbenj
Yeah the rest is okay, except that one of the washers under the tuning post is a bit Loose and that the guitar had some Wood chips inside. I’m assuming the loose washer is easy to adjust and the wood chips probably just fell in the f holes in the factory.
Waltbenj
I don’t how much of these small imperfections you’re supposed to accept. For me as long as it doesn’t compromise the longevity of the guitars life and or the sound, I’m pretty much ok with it. I’ve heard about cracks that look fine… until you change strings. Scary stories
