Buc McMaster
Willis Alan Ramsey! Man oh man is this guy underrated! He has recorded only one album to my knowledge, and I think that was back in the very early 70's. Remember the radio hit Muskrat Love.....that was Willis' pen. If you haven't heard him by all means track down his one and only self-titled recording. Great writing, singing and playing......I promise you'll love it! Listen to Angel Eyes, perhaps the finest love song ever written, sung so hauntingly. You've got to hear this guy if you haven't! His album was released on Leon Russell's Shelter label and Leon played on and produced some of the tracks. His website doesn't look like it's been updated since 2003.....be a shame if this recording is out of print.
FirstMeasure
I was thinking of Leon Russell and J.J. Cale when I started this thread. Â They wrote some of themost popukar Rock tunes of the 70's, like "Blues Power" and "Call me the Breaze", but Clapton and Skynyrd get the credit.
