Murphy Lab Les Paul's Wood

Good morning, fortuneteller.

The Murphy Labs Les Pauls feature a body made of Honduran mahogany and a maple cap, mahogany neck, and rosewood fingerboard.

The specs you find read like this, generally:

Top Wood    -  2-Piece Hand-Picked Figured Maple Attached with Hot Hide Glue
Body Wood   -  1-Piece Lightweight Mahogany
Neck Wood    - Solid Mahogany

Digging deeper;
Honduran mahogany (Swietenia macrophylla) is grown and harvested in a variety of locations around the planet.
Gibson has set up a global commodity chain that supplies them with 'sustainably certified' Honduran mahogany by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC).

It is grown in Mexico, Honduras, and Guatemala, though the majority of it apparently comes from the plantations on the islands of Fiji.

That's all I believe to be true on the matter.

🙂
