hellion102792
Listening to late '80s/early '90s hip hop actually got me into funk music. So many of those songs, mainly the ones by anyone out of NWA before and after they split sample old funk and soul music (something no mainstream rappers do today, they'd rather throw together cheap beats in Fruity Loops Studio and pass it off as good). Just listening to Dr. Dre's "The Chronic" got me into Leon Haywood, the Isley Brothers, Parliament, etc because I liked the sound of the samples and looked up what song they were from. Dynadude
Yep. Bootsy Collins is one of the greats. You get great tunes, costumes that would put Mardi Gras to shame, and dance steps that will blow your mind. Fantastic stuff to see live.

Swmcv2007
One Nation Under A Groove by Funkadelic is AMAZING. Funkadelic is also responsible for one of the sweetest guitar solos ever. Maggot Brain Live Version. F***in' awesome. Eddie Hazel is playing a nice Les Paul. He's getting a real cutting sound out of it too.

Swmcv2007
The JB's are just too funky!!! Bootsy Collins got kicked out of the JB's when he was real young for refusing to stop doing hallucinogenic drugs on stage. Bootsy is a bass god.
