Power

Referent Power means the power or ability of individuals to attract others and build loyalty. It's based on the charisma and interpersonal skills of the power holder. A person may be admired because of specific personal trait, and this admiration creates the opportunity for interpersonal influence. Here the person under power desires to identify with these personal qualities, and gains satisfaction from being an accepted follower.

THAT power is subjective, only. A leader holds sway over a follower only as long as the follower chooses.

True power is backed by authority and might to enforce one's will.

Positional Power

Also called "Legitimate Power", it refers to power of an individual because of the relative position and duties of the holder of the position within an organization. Legitimate Power is formal authority delegated to the holder of the position. It is usually accompanied by various attributes of power such as uniforms, offices etc. This is the most obvious and also the most important kind of power.

I disagree.

I say electrical power is the most important, but I openly admit you have a right to your opinion.

But, since we are defining power....

In physics, power (symbol: P) is the rate at which work is performed or energy is transmitted, or the amount of energy required or expended for a given unit of time

In mechanics, the work done on an object is related to the forces acting on it ... often summarized by saying that work is equal to the force acting on an object times its displacement (how far the object moves while the force acts on it).

and

In thermodynamics, motive power is an agency, as water or steam, used to impart motion.

and

Pulsed power is the term used to describe the science and technology of accumulating energy over a relatively long period of time and releasing it very quickly thus increasing the instantaneous power.

"Power refers broadly to any ability to effect change or exert control over either things or people, subjects or objects."

Reward Power

Reward Power depends upon the ability of the power wielder to confer valued material rewards, it refers to the degree to which the individual can give others a reward of some kind such as benefits, time off, desired gifts, promotions or increases in pay or responsibility. This power is obvious but also ineffective if abused. People who abuse reward power can become pushy or became reprimanded for being too forthcoming or 'moving things too quickly'.

The power gain of an electrical network is the ratio of an output power to an input power. Unlike other signal gains, such as voltage and current gain, "power gain" may be ambiguous as the meaning of terms "input power" and "output power" is not always clear. Three important power gains are average power gain, transducer power gain and available power gain.

Wow...just wow...

CAPTURING THE "WOW"

We've all had awesome moments: Witnessing the sheer power of a hurricane, tornado, avalanche, 50-foot waves. Or experiencing the awesome drama of the Swiss Alps. Or being in the presence of an awesome political or cultural leader.

Raw Power is the third album by American rock band The Stooges, released in 1973. Raw Power was largely ignored upon its release, and the group broke up in obscurity a few years later. However, it was embraced by a small, rabid fan-base that included many younger musicians who would go on to help create the punk rock genre in the mid- to late-1970s and experience commercial success, making Raw Power one of the most important proto-punk documents of its era.
