Californiaman
What's a fair price for a used, single pickup Melody Maker? My local craigslist has one for $375. I'm thinking about it. What are your opinions of the Melody Maker?
mr newhaven
hey mang... i bought an 07 melody maker about a year ago for 200...great condition...vintage sunburst... but that was when they were 385 brand new...prices went up a little since then... in my opinion...its a good guitar for that price...american made... im sure you could get it for 325-350... i wouldnt be ashamed to have it at that price! value wise youre getting a good deal...but 375 is almost what that person paid for it 2 years ago... try and see how low they will go... but i dont think you can walk away with one for under 3 anymore
Californiaman
Thanks, I'm thinking about. If I buy it I would be cutting into the money I have set aside for the '62RI Telecaster Custom. It's nice sure, but I don't know that I necessarily need it. But I'm thinking about it.
tulsaslim
I think it was none other than NeoCon Man* who came up with this little ditty: Which one of these is different from the others? Syphillis Aids Gonnorhea Brand New Melody Maker Still in the Box Answer: Gonnorhea It's the only one you can get rid of after you acquire it. *my apologies to Neo if it wasn't him. But I think he was trying to get rid of a MM a year or so ago.

saturn
I wonder how LS-14 is liking his Melody Maker?
Mr. Robot
Gibson has started shipping these in window display boxes - which is very off-putting because I feel like I am looking at a competitor to those High School Musical Guitars they sell in KMart. I have never played one so I cant comment on the guitar itself, but lots of people say they are great - and if you can pick up another Gibby classic to feed your GAS for less than $400, then I would be very tempted too.
