hi13ts
Have any of you tried it? It seems like a great fit because the JB's versatile as hell as well as the Gibson Les Paul. I would imagine it being comparable to Gibson's 498T because they're both Alnico 5s that's overwound. Any opinions?
NeoConMan
I have no data to back me up, but my experience is that the JB is a little hotter. Specs on the pickups or the ability to A/B them would help matters and confirm or deny. Either way, you'd have a Rock 'n Roll Machine in your hands! deepblue
The JB (Jeff Beck) is an amazing pickup. Its hot though. 16.4k packs a punch, but a well balanced punch. Too me its a little hot for a Les Paul, but its my go to pup on my Charvel. I wonder why Beck didnt insist on these for his signature Oxblood? surfpup
Yes, I have used it - in the bridge position of the Custom in my avatar. It's hot and mid-rangy. As long as you don't need clean tones, it is a killer rock pickup.
max2343
The JB is Way Better Than the 498T and Yes I've Used it For Years with a 59 in the Neck.

Great for hard rock, I used it for Scorpions, Ratt and such.
ledzep59
I don't have one, but my buddy has one in his Epi flying-v. As mentioned, it is a very hot pickup, so if you're looking for versatility you might want to look into other pickups. I have two SD '59s in my R9 that I love. I think either of those pickups sounds better than the 498T, which I have in my studio.
