Andre S
Would this be suitable to fill stoptail holes on a Gibson SG Standard?

Bluemoon
Beats me. I would go talk to a luthier and ask them what they would suggest. Why do you need to fill the holes anyway?

No luthiers in my country. I don't need to fill any yet, but when I get a SG Standard I am adding a Maestro trem so I need to fill the stop tail holes because they will show to the side of the trem. surfpup
You got nothing to lose by trying it. If it looks like crap, drill it out and you have holes again. A better option, however, might be small mahogany dowels.

Blackie
To get the bushings out just raise the tail poles a little and protect the guitar top and pry each side up and out with a claw hammer. It will come out pretty easily. Same with the bridge poles also.
Riffster
After retrieving the bushings just plug the holes with mahogany inserts and glue. The space is too big to fill with glue alone, it will shrink or crack.
Andre S
Very cool, thank you, stiffhand and blackie. Maybe I'll go with the ebony SG, because I cannot order nitro online, it cannot ship by air, and I'm outside the states. So the ebony will be easier to match, with any paint.
