Hthomas
Hey guys, hope everyone is well. Was wondering what are some key stuff to nail Jerry Cantrell's tone?
DamienAzrael
Almost all the Alice In Chains songs are tuned down a half step...some in drop D down a half step.
Hthomas
guitarest, do you think my 5150 would do the trick as well? He used bogner and that seems to be a pretty high gain amp like the 5150. I also have noticed about my 5150, it only sounds great when really turned up around 4-5 rather and 1-3. Californiaman
OK, I'm going to post this one more time. Just kidding. Since seeing AIC in Sept. I've pretty much got it down. Bogner Shiva Amp, Bogner Fish Preamp. Marsha (Marshall Clone). G&L Rampage, Gibson Les Pauls, Gibson Song Writer Here, watch this video from Premier Guitar. solacematt
Pretty much any tube amp you can play hard rock through will do. I've always been able to nail Jerry's sound through the different Marshall's I've used over the years, from my current 6100, to my previous 800, to Damien's DSL2000. DeVeeWee
Almost all the Alice In Chains songs are tuned down a half step...some in drop D down a half step. As Damien mentionned, you get the sound by drop D tuning(comparable to what Kim Thayil of Sound Garden does a lot) and play it loud through any amp with your distortion stuff(I like the rig video CA man!). AXE®
Cantrell has been a HUGE influence for me. His phrasings and dark moody sound is always definable Cantrell.
