Dub-T-123
Binding is the créme plastic that covers the edges of the fretboard on the Standard.
ps25814
oh yeha i like the binding but the neck is different because the faded brown has a bronwish neck like dark brown and the standard necks r like basically black so theyre problly a little different
Dub-T-123
The color has nothing to do with the neck. The Faded Special comes in worn brown or worn cherry and I think ebony (black) now. The Standard comes in either Heritage Cherry or Ebony and now Classic white.
ps25814
but do u think the standard is 200 bucks bette rthna the faded?
GIANTRobOT420
The Standard has a thicker finish so the neck is considerably smoother.I'd get the Standard but you should follow your heart skippy
Dub-T-123
Im pretty sure the price difference us more than $200 but yes it's definately worth it. Did you watch that YouTube video? The Standard sounded WAY better (although that guy sucked at guitar). It obviously looks way better. And IMO it feels better. I feel that the Standard is superior in every way. By the way... let's not forget about the Classic. It's a fine high quality guitar. And it has p90s! P90s are amazing!

Ronnie Robinson
I would try a Standard out before you sell your faded in case the neck does nt suit and yes the Standard is a much better guitar

tbonesullivan
i could actually get more i bet for a used faded? what are you smoking? they currently sell for $700 NEW on Musicians friend. $600 if you are lucky, $500 or less is more realistic. A NEW standard is still $1200, or $1300 for the white with coil taps. You might be able to score a used one for $800, but you'll have to search. ps25814
im saying after a while i oculd get 600 and i found a standard for 800 one for 850 and a few for
Dub-T-123
800 is a sweet price for a Standard. Honestly, 1200 & 1300 are great prices for a new one. Yeah put you faded up for sale. Make sure you try the guitar before you buy it. There are some major duds out there.
ps25814
ok dub i will buy guitar from craigslist than and if i buy used of guitarcenter.com is there like a 30 day period in which i cna take it back?
Dub-T-123
I'm not sure what GCs return policy is regarding used gear. In my experienced they are über overpriced when it comes to used stuff. But if you found a good deal then that's cool. Are you getting a cherry one?
