onewilyfool
I know I'm going against "tradition", but I love everything about the J-200 except that (to me) funny looking bridge.....does someone have to go "custom" to get another style bridge? Historically, did Gibson ever use any other bridges? Just wondering....

ksdaddy
I'm not familiar with how the whole custom order thing goes. I know you have to deal with a Gibson dealer and they are the 'go-between' as to price, delivery , all that. I would think that putting a basic J-100 belly-up bridge on a J200 would be quite easy, given that the bridges are installed quite late in the game; the guitars are basically built and finished by that point. It's not like you'd be asking for a seven string lefty in greenburst Koa.
J185-4Me
Aside from Custom models and the seventy's "Artist" model, I think all J-200s are in part characterized by having a moustache bridge. Other models possessing a different bridge were made, but they had different names. This is (formerly mine and Brother Bob's, not anymore though) an '89 J-100 as they were made for about 2-3 years, before the "Xtra", a simpler bridge: Fred

ksdaddy
I know I'm going against "tradition" Well, if we didn't go against tradition once in a while, we'd still be beating two rocks together to make music.
