Josh James
I was thinking of putting on a distressed chrome pickup cover on my goldtop BFG to match the other hardware. I've been looking around and cannot find one. Anyone know if they even make these? J

Josh James
Is it easy to do? I dunno if I should even put one on my goldtop bfg....I think it would look cool with a pickup cover that matched the rest of the hardware. I already have a ring around the bb3 and a black cover on the p90. Any thought? J
Dub-T-123
I think uncovered would match the BFG vibe.

Riffster
It is hard to distress chrome but if I was trying to distress a chrome pickup cover I would put it in a can or jar with screws, nuts bolts and any other small metal hardware, close the can/jar and shake it up to taste. That should give the chrome tiny scratches. Pitying (sp?)the chrome is harder, maybe would have to be chemically induced. EDIT: if you want only the top of the pickup cover to be scratched then tape off the sides.

cabba2203
Try very fine steel wool, 0000. Rub uniformly in the same direction, try to avoid swirls. It removes the bright shine of nickle and chrome, it will give it that "satin" used look.
